High Maintenance: Stealing Your Joy

How is being high maintenance stealing your joy? What's the difference between being high maintenance and having reasonable expectations for myself, others, and life?

High Maintenance means you have a lot of rules to feel satisfied and happy in one certain, and or all areas of life. Having many rules that are perhaps unattainable and not sustainable, meaning it is difficult for you to uphold and reach these rules on a consistent basis, makes it more difficult to feel happy, leads to frustration and needing to be in control all the time to maintain the rules. It also makes those closest to you suffer and struggle to please you with such unreasonable expectations that might not even be clear to them. Then it is easier for you to become disappointed and victimized when expectations are not met, leading to feelings of loss of control and then clinching to control even more. In the video I share potential ideas to change these joy stealing ways of thinking.
