If happiness comes from outside yourself, from someone or others, your level of happiness is now based on that person, or others. You are no longer in control of your happiness and your happiness is now subject to others' moods, personalities, and life circumstance; not something very consistent or reliable.
If others know that your happiness is based on them, they are the sole provider of your happiness, that puts a lot of pressure on them, doesn’t it? It puts them in a position of conditional, not unconditional love with you. Because they have to follow your rules and expectations of what to do to make you happy, and if they don’t you take away your love. You are mad because the sole provider of your happiness did not follow your expectations and therefore you are unhappy. How do you think it feels to be forced to do or be something for others in order to receive their love? Have a listen . . .
